I strongly support your line of inquiry. But natural skeptics like me won't take long to search for "cosmological natural selection criticism" and would appreciate your response. Not expecting you to have all the answers, but at least an acknowledgement of some of the known criticisms.
A quick web search turns up a few criticisms of the CNS model. I would be interested in your take on thse and other criticisms of the model.
Especially interesting to me is the comment about the holographic principle (first link) which seems to be gaining ground lately.
